Salmon BAP Certification

As the farmed salmon supply has grown, the need for 3rd party assurances of safety and sustainability has also grown. Seafood buyers around the world want to know that the farmed salmon they are purchasing is being produced in the right way. Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certified salmon provides those assurances. BAP certified farms hold themselves to strict standards that limit environmental impacts while also maintaining control of practices to minimize food safety concerns.

BAP certified farm, hatchery, feed mill and processing plant holds themselves to these standards by allowing regular, independent audits of their practices. These audits verify compliance to the BAP standards. As a result of these practices, BAP is the most widely recognized and accepted 3rd party certification aquaculture standard available to the marketplace today.

There are currently more than 400 BAP certified facilities involved in salmon farming around the world today. As Chinese consumers continue to look for safe, high quality salmon to feed their families, you can provide comfort to your customers by sourcing BAP-certified salmon.
